ARTIST STATEMENT
Everyone is an artist. We are each simply unique in our expression, our reasons why we create art, and what we observe in the world. I am a process focused artist with the intention of creating something magical. I enjoy the process of making the art: the process of revealing the image and watching it come to life. In giving it purpose and dimension, art also allows me a means of sharing the connections I observe in this world, hidden in visual language, by creating a space to allow the viewer to process meaning in their own time.
Incorporating aspirations of personal growth, my work addresses issues of identity, human awareness, social consciousness, duality in nature, universal archetypes, purpose and path. I enjoy juxtaposing principles of consciousness and transformation, quantum theory, humor, wordplay, contrast, hidden imagery, metaphor and flow as paths that offer the least resistance. I want the viewers to honestly think about the results that they are achieving in life and support them in moving toward eudaimonia as they navigate their way through my visual narratives.
I find connections between seemingly unrelated entities found in nature and combine them into an unconventional polymorphic visual narrative. My intention is to invite the viewers into a restorative dialogue; one that nurtures a positive paradigm shift and ongoing personal growth. I want the viewers to observe possibility in the object’s attributes in an environment that has ethereal qualities that reiterate “anything is possible with God.” I love the quote by Goethe, “Whatever you can do, or dream you can begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.” Not that I believe God is magical, but the qualities that He breathes into one’s life purpose are extraordinary and miraculous with an enchanting beauty that distinguishes an individual with his own hallmark light. The key is to begin on one’s journey and for me that is the endless opportunity that art affords.
Art was man’s first shared language. Both personal and universal art connects human beings, aligning our hearts. These recorded observations become opportunities for reflection and refinement. To be truly authentic, I feel I have a responsibility to share my expression and honor it by giving my creative spirit a space, recognizing that I am in its service and simultaneously staying out of its way. Getting to do what I love is a holy covenant. I hope that by giving myself over to that divine energy I am able to be of service to others through my creative expression.
